Sensational Saturday!!

I am officially the Pop'rs Giveaway Grand Prize Winner from Veggie Mom's blog over at Eat Your Veggies!!!! Each day this week a winner has gotten 2 flavors of their choice of Pop'rs and the grand prize is a complete set of all 8 flavors!!! I can't even tell you how much I've wanted to try these!! Their flavors are Buffalo, Taco, Raspberry, Chicken, Chocolate, Butter, Strawberry, Color Burst, and Cinnamon. They are made to sprinkle on food to give zest, fun, and flavor and I can't wait to try them out on my picky eaters!! I have a 15 year old, Cameron, who prefers frozen pizza to nearly anything we eat, a 6 year old grandson who will eat about 1/2 of what we cook, and a 7 year old friend, Payton, who ONLY eats cheese pizza, seriously, so I intend to try some Pop'rs with him! I will let you know how it goes!!!! Thank you Veggie Mom!!

Tara at Living a Dream posted this award and tagged us all, so I am claiming it because it's cute!!

This award comes with a few questions, so here we go:

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood? The earliest childhood friend that I am still in touch with is my friend, Michelle, that I met in 7th grade. I have recently reconnected with 5 friends that I met in 6th grade. I have many new friends though, so not all the same since childhood.

2. What do you value most about your friends? Dependability.

3. Are your friends your sounding boards? Some of them, yes.

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends? Dining out

Now I get to pass this award on to 4 friends...

I will have to pass this on to my real life friends:
Lesley at Na-Na's Cozy Kitchen
Chelle at Chelle's Writings
Joe at Isabella's Daddy
Kelley at My Life With My Love

Melissa at The Scholastic Scribe passed this poem of friendship on to me:

We need friends for many reasons,
all throughout the season.
We need friends to comfort us
when we are sad,
and to have fun with us
when we are glad.
We need friends to give us good advice,
We need someone we can count on,
and treat us nice.
We need friends to remember us
once we have passed
sharing memories that will always last.

Thank you Melissa!!! I will pass it on to 5 readers too!!

Frizzy at Heaven's Gift

Elizabeth called me this morning, thank goodness!!! I worry about her, but I don't like to be pushy or demanding either, so I give her a lot of space. If you don't know about Elizabeth and our adoption story, you can find it here. We usually talk every couple of weeks, sometimes more often, but I haven't heard from her since right after Hurricane Gustav. I called her several times last week and even emailed her mom just to make sure everything was ok. She told me this morning that her cell phone has been broken and Landen's dad hasn't been paying child support, so she couldn't get a new phone. Brad (her boyfriend)'s aunt got her a phone yesterday and I told her I have a good one she could have had. She said, I wish I'd have known that!!! I said, well, If you'd have called me back....lol. Anyway, they are doing fine and I am planning to keep Landen & Mack after Walter's party on October 18th. I am going to Houston next weekend to visit JP, so I can't get them before the 18th. I plan to go by and visit one night next week. I miss them!!

And it's hard to believe, but I lost ANOTHER pound! Monday morning I weighed 161 and today I weigh 154! My goal is 145, I so am really hopeful that I'll meet my goal soon, or at least get really close!! I love me some Dr. Atkins!! Cameron asked me the other day, "mom, didn't he die from his own diet?" Yeah, well, I'm not sure he was actually on the diet, but yeah maybe so! But in the short term, the diet works great and when I hit 150 I will probably switch to South Beach and work on adding back some carbs and eating right.

Questions & Comments:
My friend, Kimi (who doesn't have a blog, but should) asked where I buy low carb wraps. Walmart has them in their refrigerated section near the other fajita type bread, bagels, etc. They are 4 carbs per wrap.

I think that is plenty for one day!!! We don't have anything planned really, so I will be doing some laundry and just relaxing today! Have a great day!

I love the adoption story. I have a family member who has grown children, grandchildren, etc who still hasn't shared it with them. I know because a person jealous of her told me thinking I would dislike her. Or not hold her in high regard. It kind of did the opposit. This family member doesn't know I know and I haven't shared it. If anything changes, I'll still be there. I would love a great ending. Her daughter would be my age. I think she is only a couple of months older than I.
