Hi everyone,

I have kept my blog online so that I could deliver the news about JP to those who have followed our story and cared so much! I have not found my way back here and really enjoy keeping up with everyone on Facebook, but for those who aren't there, here is our outcome we've waited nearly 3 years for. JP has agreed to take a 25 year plea deal. He will be eligible for parole after 12.5 years and will receive credit for the 3 years he has already served. He is comfortable with his decision and I am relieved to have the answers we have waited for. His attorney was convinced he would receive a life sentence, so this was his best plan, I think. Hi everyone,

Once again, JP's trial has been reset! The new date is November 3, which is very frustrating, but I feel like the trial will happen when it is the right time. His attorney is involved in a federal death penalty case and wont have time to work on his case. We want her to have time to work on his case!! So we'll wait. I've written to JP and asked him to call me, but as far as I know, he still doesn't know yet. My friend, Lesley, & I visited him last weekend, but didn't find out about the date change until after the meeting.

Otherwise, things are great! I have the week off of work for Easter break and am very excited! And then only 26 more work days until I have the summer off! Yay!

Hey!

Hey everyone! I appreciate the messages but have to say I just don't have any interest in blogging right now. I am not going to delete the blog because of my faithful friends that would like to know JP's outcome. I met some true friends here and hope to stay in touch. Speaking of which, I'm loving keeping up with many of you on Facebook!! If you're on there, please add me... Dawn Womack Lundin ... anywho, my friend, Lesley & I are going to visit JP April 4 & 5, then hopefully the trial will start April 28th as scheduled. I will report back when we know if the trial will happen or not.

Here I am again!

Hi again! Thanks to my friends who have been checking in on me! I am sad to say that I am just bored with the blogging right now. I know that if I force myself to do it, it wont be enjoyable anymore. My latest fascination is Facebook and if you are a member and want to look me up, feel free (Dawn Lundin). Warning...warning...warning...I will delete you if you ever mention my blog on there!!! Most of my family are members of Facebook and they are not privy to my blog and I plan to keep it that way! I will try to keep the blog going and miss hearing about what my friends are up to.

My step-son was in a motorcycle accident last Tuesday and has a broken leg and wrist. He was not supposed to be riding the motorcycle after several accidents, so it is a very frustrating thing to deal with. This accident wasn't his fault and he's quite lucky about that. He should be going home from the hospital today to await further surgery on his leg and wrist. He has had one already and the doctors want the wait for the swelling to go down before they perform another one. He will be temporarily staying with his mother, which never works out well.

JP is doing good and just waiting on his April trial. He is writing and calling fairly often and sounds like he is doing good. I am just praying for God to work His will in JP's life. I send the attorney & investigator quite a list of questions we have about the case and am patiently waiting to get some answers on all of that.

Cameron is good. He's actually putting some effort into school this semester and I'm glad to see that. Landen spent the weekend with us recently and we had a good time with him. Walter & I are good, but not getting to spend a lot of time together as he is at the hospital with Sean most nights. Just one more thing to work through together!!

My friend, Lesley, and I are leaving tomorrow afternoon, along with Cameron to go to Houston for the weekend to visit with JP! We are staying at the same hotel as last time, which is in a mall near my sister's house. It should be fun! Cameron was supposed to stay with my sister, but her older son has moved back home, so I am going to keep him at the hotel with us. We will visit JP on Saturday & Sunday morning, then plan to have lunch with our friend, Kimi, on our way home.

And yes, when I get back I am starting the South Beach diet! I've never tried it before, but I do well on Atkins and I feel like this is similar, just a little healthier and maybe something I can stick to long term.

Walter & I were able to lock in a great interest rate (4.25) to refinance the house! We bought 2 points so the rate is even lower than we were looking at, so now are just going through the paperwork part to get everything done. We will be paying the house off in 15 years instead of 30. Supposedly, a notary will be sent to our house when it's time to sign everything and we never have to go to the bank! Gotta love internet banking!

Saturday night

Happy New Year everyone!! We had a great time New Year's Eve, although it has taken me several days to recouperate from it! Walter and I have both recognized that we are too old for all that partying and actually enjoy staying at home on New Year's Eve, so I doubt we will be out on the town in future years, but we really did have a fun time. Cathy's friend, Gene, took lots of pictures, so when I get them I will post some.

New Year's Day was fun even though I would have rathered stayed in bed all day!!! We checked out of the hotel around 9, went home to get ready to go to my mom's for lunch, then went and spent some time with my mom, step-dad, sister (Donna), & brother-in-law (Kevin). Here in the south, for some reason people force you to eat black eyed peas and cabbage on New Year's day, however, I don't bend to that pressure!! The black eyed peas are supposed to bring you money in the New Year and cabbage is supposed to bring you luck. I ate some cabbage and will take my chances on the money!!

That evening, Kevin went to a friends house for a deep sea fishing trip the next day, so Donna spent the night with us. We barbequed hamburgers and had Lesley, Mike, their boys, Cathy, & Brent over for dinner and had a great time! I didn't think to take any pictures, so sorry about that!! On Friday, Donna & I went to visit a friend of hers and see her new house.

Today, Donna & I went to visit Elizabeth and pick up Landen, who called wanting to come spend the night tonight. We visited awhile, took some pictures, and got a cute video of Mack dancing to the ringtones on Elizabeth's phone. Afterwards, Donna, Landen, & I went to have lunch at the Chimes with 2 of her friends. It was a fun day, then Landen & I came home to hang out and watch movies with Walter. Our other news is that we decided with the dropping interest rates to refinance
our house! We will now be paying it off in 15 years rather than 30 with nearly the same note. We are doing the refinancing with Chase Bank and it has been a smooth process so far. It looks like my kind of deal - we should never have to even go to the bank! Everything is either emailed, faxed, or sent to our house, including a notary when the time comes.
