Walter isn't too particular about many things, but one thing he has made perfectly clear to me is that he does not want ANY MORE CATS in our house. NONE. There's no question about it. He's patiently allowed me to raise several litters of homeless kittens and find homes (kind of) for all of our "bad cat neighbors" cats that were living on our porch, but has made it clear that he does not want ANY MORE CATS in our house. Just one more? NO!! NO MORE CATS!! And really, I am happy with the 2 cats we have. I love them dearly and am satisfied with them. Could I be the crazy cat lady and have 50 cats? Sure! I really could! Was my grandmother the crazy cat lady who lived in a trailer with 20 cats? Yes! But really, I'm good on cats and have no desire to get any more. Then my friend, Terri's daughter went off to college to live in a dorm in September. Terri asked me if I was interested in taking her daughter's cat, "Sammy," who is neutered and declawed like my cats. Nooooooooooo thanks!! Don't even ask!! Then Terri sold her house Saturday and has to be moved out by the 28th and asks again if I was interested in the cat, but this time sent PICTURES!!! OH.MY.GOD!!!! I want this cat!!! He looks like a lion and he's giant like my cat! I think he would make a perfect addition to my giant cat freak show!! How cute is he??? So yeah, I told her to try to find him a home, but she really wants me to take him - even just temporarily until her daughter moves from the dorm in 2 years. Look at this beautiful cat!!!! I will have to ponder the best way to approach this subject in case Terri can't find a home for Sammy. My usual tactic would be to start putting an extra cat bed or food bowls around and then maybe "pretending" to have a new cat named Sammy!! After a minute or two of this, Walter generally catches on that I'm up to something. He's smart like that!

The diet is going ok. We have adjusted well to what we can & can't eat, and it really isn't hard to stick to eating the acceptable foods. I am still at 7 lbs. lost, but Walter has lost 10 lbs. since last Monday! I am proud of us!! Tonight, I am grilling steaks w/sauteed mushrooms for dinner. Can you see a pattern with that in my life? I love me some steak & sauteed mushrooms!!!
I brought home too much from work today, so I need to go get busy, then read my book!!! Have a great night!

OOOO TAKE the CAT....HE IS TOOO HANDSOME>....TAKE HIM IN!
OMG what an awesome cat! I say keep him! I love the way his fur is. I bet he's a sweet cat too. Do the other cats generally take well to new housemates?
Yum, steak and mushrooms! Not so bad eh? Glad the dieting is working out so well.
GORGEOUS cat!! LOVE it!! Stick to the diet! I'm proud of you!
Love, Mere
I have never seen a cat like that! I say take him. I'm not a cat person -- I'm kind of scared of them. Thanks for sharing -- Much Love

That's a very pretty cat that would be happy at your house but not at mine...
What a gorgeous cat. I have two cats, even though I am more the crazy lady who would live with 50 dogs. Find a way to keep him.
i vote you keep him! check out that mane! it says regal!
What a great looking cat! My husband is the pet instigator in our house. He keeps sending me pictures of puppies languishing at the ASPCA. It's so hard to resist but with a toddler, I don't find it too hard to say NO.
Oh my goodness, Dawn!! That cat is so cute! I love him! I hope Walter will give in! Good job on your diet, too!!
That cat looks fabulous! How can you not take him? Do your cats snore? Mine does... almost as bad as my husband. Ha-ha.
Handsome devil. I vote keep him, too. How cool is he??
You have to get that cat!! Oh man!!! It is so cute, but I am also a cat lover. Just tell your husband it is temporary. Then keep it!!
Well...you could bring the cat home and then when Hubby asks "Where did that cat come from?" you could say..."What cat?"
It is a pretty cat...but My Hubby would kill me if I brought another animal into our house!
That is the coolest looking cat. I have never seen anything like that before!
I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only steak gal in the world. It's funny I'll go to dinner with my hubby and order a steak while he orders a seafood salad or Mahimahi and the servers always mix us up when they deliver the food to the table. I should be ordering what he does but I need that treat of red meat while we're out because I can't make it at home. My hubby prefers chicken and fish or no meat at all. AACK! I am a girl from the Midwest. Doesn't work that way.
I would say no to the cat too but my hubby is good at changing my mind too. That is after all how we have 3 dogs! He would take them all in if he could afford it and still keep me. My joke to him is he'd prefer the dogs to me on most days because they don't talk back or freak out on him.
Wow, look at that lion in a cats body! He is gorgeous! I hope you can keep him. Maybe if you beg, and cry and plead, while down on your knees, Walter will relent. I hope so.
Hugs,
Renie
I'd have to take the cat and tell my sweetie that he really is temporary addition while friends daughter is at school. Such a sweet kitty he is. Good job on the diet. You're doing awesome.
Dawn...I really didn't read this today! I was actually told not to come to your blog today because of the kitty! Frizzy warned me but then she started to describe him when I was talking to her and I HAD to come check out the pictures. What a gorgeous cat!
Yay for losing weight! Wow! Walter has lost 10 pounds already?? That's great!
The kitty is sooo purdy! I hope you get it!!
I got a award for you -- Come pick it up!
Much Love

What Happened to KITTY? Did he find a home yet? OOO he is so so wonderful....wish we lived there to take him in...LOL LOL
