Good news on the diet front today! Since starting over Monday morning, I have lost 3lbs. & Walter has lost 4lbs! He said there is no way that could be right, but it is. Atkins/South Beach are like that and the weight will roll off of you if you stick to it faithfully and don't cheat. I had a great time at dinner with my friends last night, but we went to Kona Grill and there was almost nothing low-carb that I could get. I was pretty much caving in and ordering a pepperoni pizza, but decided to order the baked seabass that someone had before and liked, so I got it even though it was $25!!!! NOTHING was reasonably priced there and I doubt I will go back there again because of it because it was not worth the price. The food was good though and I stuck to my diet and let my friend, Kelly, eat the shrimp fried rice that came with my dinner even though it looked SOOOO good!!! Tonight Walter & I are going to Hilltop for dinner because he has a meeting to go to tomorrow night, so I'll get my ribeye and mushrooms a day early! Yay! Brent & Cathy aren't going with us, but we are taking them to dinner Friday night for Brent's birthday. And speaking of my dinner with my friends, I was so glad to see them!! 6 of us were able to make it, plus my friend's 2 month old baby! He is soooo cute! I held him for awhile and he went to sleep in my arms, so I got to keep him until our food came!! We ate dinner & visited until about 9pm, so I didn't get home until 10pm, but I really enjoyed my time with everyone.
Laura asked if Walter had fudged on the diet with me gone last night, but I thought ahead and cooked a roast in the crock pot and some "pretend potatoes" for him & Cameron so that he wouldn't get hungry and eat something bad!!!
Work was another crazy, busy day and I'm starting to think that this is how it will be from now on! I like being busy, but it's a little hectic sometimes.
Cameron is having a good week this week, maybe because of the promise of getting his permit Friday if he behaves. Whatever the reason, I definitely like the change of attitude. I hope it lasts!

Sounds CRAZY BUSY at school but IT all is WORTH IT esp for what YOU are doing! HELPING these kids!
I need to try the DIET you are on!
Thanks for coming by! See you have been busy! I was crazy busy today -- Ariel is sick so we had to cut school short and go to the dr. Got to go! Talk later Much Love
Wow! I'm tired just reading your hectic day. Sounds like you helped a lot of people which makes it all worth while. Keep up the good work. My conference was really great and I actually learned a few things. One of them was how much I don't envy being a kid or teen these days.
Dawnie...sorry I haven't visited in awhile. I've been buried with this Giveaway Stuff! It sure is fun to run an occasional contest, but it's a heck of a lot of work. Good news for you on the Diet Front. Ya wanna come over here and help me with mine?
Sounds like you had a busy busy day!! Glad Cameron is doing so well. He really wants that permit!
Way to go for sticking with the diet, when faced with wonderful food, and on losing this week.
Hopefully Cameron will keep up the good attitude.
permit? ack! I was so scared when my daughter had hers so I made her dad do most of the teaching of the driving. I'm a control freak I s'pose so it was extra hard to hand over the wheel and my life in the process of her learning. But she's a pretty good driver and it all worked out so....yeah for more drivers!
Great job on the diet!
Hey hey - steak night a day early - lucky girl, but that means it will be a day later until the next time 0 yuck!
Sent my first letter to JP yesterday - didn't know it would be so hard to write someone I don't know - I hope I didn't bore him to death! haha
Wow, that's great that you are making a difference in kids lives. You sound busy. Congrats on the 3 lbs weight loss. hang in there and keep going!!
Two thumbs up on your 3lbs. lost!
You Go Girl!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
(starting Monday I am quitting my Mt.Dew habit!)
Have a Great Day!
Your work with the kids sounds so very rewarding! Great on the little weight loss. Low carb really works. That rib eye steak and mushrooms gets my mouth watering every time. lol. Have a great day!
Hugs,
Renie
Hi Dawn! Thanks for stopping by yesterday... It sounds like you are super busy at school! Good job on your diet! I need to get on one!!
Congratulations on the weight loss. Whoo Hooo! That is most excellent!
And thank you very much for your donation. I appreciate it and the children do too!
Hi Dawn. Thanks for stopping by to my blog today. Best wishes on your weight release program.
That's great about your diet. I'm dieting the reverse and have been somewhat successful.
Kids sure do have a difficult time these days it seems. I think the world attitude is different than when I was there.
I have never been sad day after my kids got their license. No more early drives to activities!! But our worse thing has been Kass and his wanting to try for grades. Parents have asked Steve what they could do with their kids who aren't doing what they are supposed to. He says driving is a privilege not a right and that parents can have anything suspended just by making a phone call. It is great that he is wanting his permit enough. Things sure are hard for these kids. It makes me sad.
Wow you did have a crazy day today! That is so great that your "runner" went with you to lunch. He's lucky to have you!! :-)
I'm glad that Cameron is doing better. I bet he is excited to get his permit? Dylan loves having his, but doesn't drive everyday like he used to. I really need to make him start practicing again.
