TGIF!

Thank God it's Friday! It has been a hectic week at work. I am a school counselor assigned to 4 schools and am completing my first year on the job. The year has gone well and I love my job and the kids I work with, but the last few weeks since the LEAP and ILEAP tests ended, it feels like everyone has gone crazy! Hurry up summer! I work at 2 schools that are elementary and middle together, 1 elementary, and 1 high school. It is a great mix for me because i'm working with kids of all ages, mostly BOYS! Middle school boys sure can cause some commotion. I am waiting to find out if i'll be assigned to the same schools next year and I really hope that I am.

So anyway! It's the weekend now and there are 9 days left until I'm off for the summer. I am actually off on Monday to take Cameron to get some orthodontic work done and off on Tuesday to go with Walter to have some dental surgery done. If that isn't a short enough week, i'm leaving early on Friday to go with my friend, Christine, to LSU's school of social work graduation. Some of the part-time students that started out with me are graduating and my very special friend, Shirley, asked (or told me) to be there, so I will be! I know they must all be so excited! It was one of the best moments of my life at my graduate school graduation. One of my close friends/classmates was killed in a car accident right before our graduation, so it was one of my most difficult days too, but it was definitely one of my most shining moments.

We are going on a 5 day Caribbean cruise at the end of June and I am SO excited! We've never been on one and are going, along with Cameron & Sean, with 30+ members of Walter's family. I can't wait! I have been trying to lose 10 lbs. so I can fit in my bathing suits, and have lost 2 lbs. this week! Yay! Walter & I went to work out tonight - that makes 5/6 days this week for me. I've been eating like a mouse too, so something must be working.

We are going to dinner tomorrow night with our neighbors/friends, Cathy & Brent because we missed steak night this week! And on Sunday we are taking my mom & step-dad to lunch at a really neat restaurant on the river. It should be a fun weekend. I hope we will be able to fit some boating in there. My sister, Donna, was here last weekend and we got to take her out for a little bit with our next door neighbors. It was a little chilly, but it was worth being cold to be out on the boat!
