School's out for summer!!

Yay!! We stayed at work until 10am today and then were free to go until August 6th! I have to thank God for this awesome job and I am so grateful! I went to Walmart after I left work and stocked up on weekend necessities. Landen & Mack are coming to spend the night, so I had to get stuff for them, as well as healthy snacks for me & Walter. Cameron is here too, for now. Neil went out of town and rather than stay home without him, Cameron wanted to come spend the weekend with his friend, Bradley, who lives near us, so I will bring him over there later.


Walter & I are going to Waveland Sunday for Memorial Day and I was trying to get Cameron & Bradley to come, but it doesn't look like they will. It is so great to be able to go to Waveland again. Walter's family had 7 houses/camps there that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and it also destroyed our gathering place for holidays. Most of the houses we lost there have been rebuilt and we will be going to Walter's sister, Babet's house to celebrate Memorial Day. She doesn't live as close to the beach as others, but does live within a few blocks of the beach. The house in the background of this picture was our main gathering place - Mickey & Russell's house. It is just a slab now.

Nothing much else is going on this weekend, especially with Cathy & Brent out of town! It's supposed to rain most of the weekend, so no boating seems likely. Walter & I are going to buy the pool tomorrow morning, but will still have to wait to get some dirt hauled in before we can set it up. I am also hoping to get Walter to go with me to The Healing Place Church Saturday evening in St. Amant, so we shall see what the weekend brings!
