Danette and I had one of our awkward moments today, thanks to Landen! He never talks to anyone else about the adoption situation and the fact that his mom has two moms, but it never fails when he is with me that he brings the subject up. I understand it and have come to realize that when he is with me, he is somehow putting pieces together as to how I fit into the picture. He's known me all his life, but he hears Elizabeth refer to me as "her real mom," something I NEVER say out of respect of Danette, but I feel like Elizabeth can say whatever she feels, so I have never tried to stop her from saying it. Landen has also recently gained a step-mom, who is WONDERFUL to him, and is learning about those sorts of relationships. Anyway, as soon as Danette walked in the door with Elizabeth, Landen proceeds to tell her that she is NOT Elizabeth's mother, that Elizabeth was in DAWN'S tummy, and that Danette is Elizabeth's STEP-MOTHER!!! Lawdy be. I know my face was as red as a beet because I'm sure that Danette must think I tell him these things!! I talked to Elizabeth later and she says her mom never brought it up, but i'm sure she had some things on her mind about it!!Cameron called to see if he & some friends could come swim in the river, so I picked them up and Walter & I decided to take them tubing instead. Two of them had never been before and they all had a great time! I can't think of any way I'd rather spend my time than playing on the river, so today was a lot of fun! We took them all to dinner at Hilltop afterwards.

I found one of my best friends, Tracy, from 6th grade on Classmates.com and emailed her several times over the past year and got an email and phone call from her this week! We were friends through high school and I have only seen her once since, probably in the mid 1980's. It was so great to talk to her and we plan to get together along with several friends from high school very soon. Tracy told me that one of my high school friends lives about 15 minutes from me out here in the middle of nowhere! There is another friend who I do keep in touch with who lives even closer to me than that. Crazy!
My sister, Donna, is in town this weekend from Houston to go boating with some friends of hers who have a BIG boat that they keep out near Lake Maurepas. They invited us to go out with them, but the timing is off with our trip to Waveland tomorrow. I probably wont see Donna this trip, but will see her June 6th when Cameron & I go to visit JP one last time before the trial. I also plan to pick up a friend of JP's to bring her to visit him. She hasn't been able to get over to see him and seems to really want to. He can use all the support he can get from friends, so I will pick her up and get her there! We will visit him one day with her and the next day with Donna & her grandson, Elijah.
Walter ordered a truck load of sand that should be delivered Tuesday to level out the ground for our pool!! We went and bought the pool today and I am so excited!! Walter is certain that I will use it twice and forget about it! My bet is that he'll be in it as much as me, which will be ALOT!!
