Friday

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We have enjoyed having some time off, seeing our families, and celebrating Thanksgiving. Walter is building a bird feeder for one of his sisters for Christmas and was working on it this week. Landen came to spend the night Tuesday night, so he wanted to build a bird feeder of his own.

When I brought him home Wednesday afternoon, he went out in his backyard and attempted to dig a hole to put his bird feeder in. It really looked pretty stable, but it wasn't.

Elizabeth & I went out to see it and she accidentally knocked it over! I could have chosen to try to keep her from knocking it over, but instead I decided to take pictures!!

Landen was extremely upset and again, instead of being helpful, I continued taking pictures!!

Eventually, we helped him get it to stand up again, but I'm quite sure it fell over as soon as we left!! Maybe Elizabeth's boyfriend will help him dig a deeper hole. Regardless, Landen was very proud of his bird feeder. He filled it with corn, so I'm not sure how many birds he will attract.

Here is a picture of Elizabeth & Mac. If he looks really big in this picture, it's because HE IS!!!

We went to Metairie, about an hour from our house, for Thanksgiving at Walter's youngest brother's house yesterday and had a great day. The weather was nice and we were able to spend most of the day outside. As usual, there was way too much food, but it was all really good!!! We didn't take many pictures, but here is me and one of my sister-in-laws listening intently to someone's story!

And then this is Keith - the younger one on the right. He probably doesn't look like someone who was about to have an emergency appendectomy, but yeah, unfortunately, by the time he got to his aunt's house in Baton Rouge where he was staying last night to go hunting early this morning, he began having really bad pains in his stomach and was taken to the emergency room in the early morning hours this morning. He had an appendectomy at 10:30 this morning and all is well. Walter & I visited him after the surgery and he is fine. But he wont be going hunting!

So, the only other news is that Walter & I are starting on a low calorie diet today and I'm not real amused about it. I've gained a few more lbs. lately and my clothes aren't fitting, so I will try this for a week or two and if that doesn't work, I'll go back to my no-fail low-carb diet.
Have a great evening!

I am not sure that the birds will come to corn, but he will get a lot of squirrels - they will love it!

good luck with the diet!

Ohhhh....I need to do something about the diet/pants not fitting. But most of the time, I just don't have the willpower.

I will live through you! Inspire me!!

Wow Poor Kieth! I mean, that happened fast huh? Ya just never know. thank goodness he got the surgery right quick!

Sounds like a nice day. The photos of the bird feeder and his poor sad face were great! Sad. :( But great! teehee!

Sounds like a fun turkey day. Well maybe not for everyone. I wouldn't want to have an emergency Appendectomy. UGH! At least he got to eat the turkey first. No fun to be on a liquid diet on Thanksgiving. As for hunting there's alway more time for it. I hope your son is well. Have a great weekend my dear. You look beautiful so don't worry so much about your weight!

Hi Dawn,

Love the pictures. Poor Landen and his bird feeder. He is a cute boy.

Glad you had a good Thanksgiving. Our weather was perfect all this past week and we spent a lot of time outdoors as well. And I ate way too much, too. Back to the diet.

Have a great weekend!

Hugs,

Renie

I'm glad you had good Thanksgiving!

You wouldn't be a good blogger if you didn't take pictures of all the bloggable moments! LOL!

Sounds like you guys had a great thanksgiving. I'm not sure if the corn will attract birds as much as it might the deer. Wouldn't that be nice?

Have a great weekend!

Awww Landen looks crushed in that one picture of him. I hope the birdhouse can be put in the ground stable enough too.

Sounds like y'all had a really nice Thanksgiving with Walter's family. I'm sure all of the food was great. I remember first hand what GREAT gumbo he makes.

Glad to hear Keith did okay with his surgery. That's quite painful from what I hear.

Mack is so cute. From looking at that picture, he looks almost as big as Jacob and Jacob turned 2 in September. Big boy!!

Hey, if you need some extra $$, convince Walter to sell some of those feeders...I know birders in Wisconsin who would pay for them-seriously! Hope you and yours had a Wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Thanks for the update on JP. I hope all goes well and the letter isn't needed. However, it's always better to have a backup in place just in case. Keep me posted as he continues to be in my prayers.

The feeder is as cute as the one who made it.

Ouch, what bad timing for surgery. Hope is feeling better so can go out hunting.

Love the birdhouse pictures! I love that you kept taking pictures even when he was mad. I need to start taking pictures of my kids when they're mad. It would keep me from getting into it with them!
