And yes, I'm tagging YOU!!!
Well, we have had an eventful weekend. Friday night, some of my graduate school friends & I got together for dinner and our annual white elephant gift exchange. Things were a little different this year, because only 4 out of 6 of us were able to come. And one of the 4 didn't get there until late, so my friends, Becky & Judith and I exchanged gifts and had dinner, then waited for Kelly to get there. The gift I got is a cool Fleur de Lis bowl and some slippers. I love them!! One of my friends had some news that had us all in tears, so no pictures were taken. And the news is ok, just a life changing event that is about to happen, but I have been asked not to mention it just yet, so that will have to wait for another post.
Here is LSU's Christmas tree that is near the parade grounds on campus. I had to stop and take a picture when I saw it!
Then, Saturday night, Walter & I went to Brent & Cathy's Christmas party. They live on our street, so we were able to eat, drink, & be merry, and boy were we!!! It was a great party and we had so much fun! I took a million pictures, so I will post a few of them here for your entertainment. We also had a white elephant gift exchange there, but neither of us got anything too interesting. This is Walter & I

I just love this picture! This is Gene & Cathy
Ok, and the highlight (or lowlight) of the party was Cheryl. She is my neighbor and former housekeeper that I fired several months ago. I haven't seen Cheryl since all that happened, so I figured it might be awkward, but fortunately, she got so drunk that she probably wont remember any of the awkwardness.

Today, I went out to the church where I have been working with the Youth Minister to raise money for the adolescents in the transitional living program and we collected all of the gifts and delivered them to the young men and women at the group home! They weren't all there, so they didn't open the gifts yet, but they were so excited to see that we had brought gifts for them! It is so rewarding to help others when you can, so I encourage you all to do it when you are able. Look closely at this picture and the looks on these young ladies' faces!!

Merry Christmas! I was up early since the little Natvie woke up at 3 am in a good mood and so I was able to catch up on your blog! YOU sound like you had a fun weekend. I cleaned the house from top to bottom and am just relaxing a bit now...HOPEFULLY you are relaxing and READING something GREAT!
Looks like you had a fun weekend! have a very Merry Christmas!!
Looks like your weekend was jam packed but loads of fun.
Yep! I'd say Cheryl had a "little" too much alcohol!!
It is FREEZING here and I had to stop and get gas this morning. It was 27 degrees!! What was I thinking?!?!
Well... should Cheryl ever try to cause you any trouble, I'd say you have blackmail material...
Thanks for playing along with the meme. That is a great pic of you and your sister, you look just alike.
Cooold here, and supposed to be hot again by Christmas. That's Louisiana for you :)
You sure had a busy and fun weekend! Love the pictures, especially of your sister and yourself. 29 is warm compared to 8 degrees, which we had this morning. Brrrr!
Well, got to go make the crab rangoons for a party I will be attending.
Merry Christmas, Dawn!
Hugs,
Renie
Love the pics! The housekeeper deal is a riot!
Awww I loved this post with all of your pictures! What were y'all dancing to? It looked like a lot of fun!
You and your sister look very purdy in that old picture!!
Sounds like you had a great Weekend of fun and friends. But why is it, every "party" you attend there is always someone there acting the fool? lol. Mercy, I just don't get the impression that was a low key Christmas party. You should of said, "Onstage Christmas Party.. that a way!"lol. She seems a bit much. Anyway, seems like you had great fun! So glad you were able to bless so many this Christmas season. I still need your address.
